The DNS for mechanicalcat.net is resolving again! It's a long, annoying story, but hopefully won't happen again. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Tried to transfer it. New registrar had some problem, but didn't actually do anything about it. Domain expired. Days of trying to get resolution out of new registrar resulted in nothing. Cancelled new registrar and renewed using old registrar.
the two best (imho) registrars are pairnic.com and gandi.net. i recommend switching to one of them. i've never encountered any glitches with either. since orders tend to be processed faster with pairnic.com you may want to go with them.
have you considered getting an external dns service? dnsmadeeasy.com provides good service. their interface is a bit clunky but it's not enough of an issue to move me to suggest another dns service.
